Karen has been a member of the American Business Women’s Association, (ABWA), since May 2006.  She was elected ‘Woman of the Year 2008’, Inner Circle member (recruiting over 22 new members) for the ABWA organization, and a 2014 Top Ten Business Woman. She is a proud member of  DC Charter Chapter, a Best Practice Chapter where she served as President for three terms, Vice President, and Chapter Advisor for many years. In October 2017, she expanded her leadership journey by being named District IV Vice President.  In this capacity she served as a 2017-2018 Trustee for the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF).     ABWA has been a strong motivator in directing Karen toward establishing and achieving her goals. She is a recipient of the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund, served on the ABWA National Nominating Committee and as a judge for selection of the 2016 American Business Woman.
